The Open Society Foundations has accused the Kenyan government of disregarding the rule of law after Zimbabwean lawyer and human rights activist Brian Kagoro was denied entry to Kenya despite a court order allowing his travel.

Brian Kagoro, managing director for Africa at Open Society, was stopped in Addis Ababa on Tuesday, September 15.
A High Court order issued in June had directed authorities to allow Kagoro into Kenya pending a case challenging his deportation.
The Kenyan Attorney General has been given 14 days to explain why Kagoro was denied entry despite the existing court order.
