Despite a significant rise in mobile money subscriptions to a record 101.3 percent penetration, the number of registered mobile money agents in Kenya experienced a decline.

• The number of registered mobile money agents fell by 5.6 percent to 568,463 in the quarter ended June 30, 2026.
• The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) reported the data.
• Mobile money subscriptions, however, increased by 13.2 percent to 4 million during the same quarter, and active mobile subscriptions across all networks grew to 87.99 million.
