Agricultural leaders are urging Kenyan farmers to capitalize on the anticipated El Niño rains to revive their farms and improve yields after a prolonged drought. This comes as preparations for the 2026 Nairobi International Trade Fair are underway.

• The Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) is encouraging farmers to use certified seeds, secure fertiliser early (now priced at Sh2,000 per bag, down from Sh2,500), and adopt improved farming practices.
• Key figures include John Kibera, ASK National Chairman, and Levi Mukhweso, ASK Nairobi International Trade Fair Chairman.
• The Nairobi International Trade Fair, running from September 28 to October 4, will feature over 400 exhibitors and focus on climate-smart agriculture, innovation, and technology.
