A county employee and a primary school teacher have been charged in court for allegedly operating an unlicensed investment scheme and fraudulently inducing members of the public to invest through Global Investment Group (GIG), which operated under Quant Vest Stock Exchange (QVSE).
- The accused, Ruth Kimeu and Mary Mwangangi, allegedly conducted this business between January 1 and September 17, 2026, without a license from the Capital Markets Authority (CMA).
- They are jointly charged with carrying out investment business without a license and fraudulent inducement to trade in securities.
- Despite prosecutors' concerns, the two denied the charges, claiming "no money was lost," and were released on a bond of Sh200,000 each, with an alternative cash bail of Sh100,000.
