Waterborne diseases in Kirinyaga County have plummeted by 63pc following the successful implementation of the Mwea-Makima Water Project, led by Governor Anne Waiguru.

• A reduction in cases from 19,061 in 2018/19 to 6,900 by 2025/26.
• The project now provides safe water to approximately 30,000 people across 7,500 households.
• This initiative addresses the longstanding issue of residents relying on contaminated irrigation canal water for domestic use.
