The Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) has lost a 17-year legal battle against the Catholic Diocese of Meru over a 28-acre parcel of land in Meru.

• The Court of Appeal ruled that historical occupation does not automatically grant ownership rights.
• PCEA Church accused the Catholic Diocese of Meru of fraudulent subdivision and transfer of the land in 2009.
• PCEA has been ordered to vacate the land within three months, where it operates a girls' secondary school.
