The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has reported that the Wikililye–Katulani section of the B61 road in Kitui County is 66% complete, with work having resumed after a previous stall.

• The project, part of a wider Ksh2.3 billion initiative to connect Kitui and Makueni counties, is now at 66% completion.
• Key stakeholders include KeNHA, with board members inspecting the progress, and the Kitui County Commissioner, who is addressing land acquisition challenges.
• Despite an original completion date of 2024, the project stalled and resumed recently, with the contractor aiming to finish the remaining 15 kilometres in Kitui by December.
