Kisumu County has significantly reduced under-five deaths, a success attributed to collaborative efforts and a new initiative aimed at further improving child nutrition.

• Under-five deaths have fallen from 66 to 37 per 1,000 live births over the last decade.
• The progress was highlighted by Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o, with contributions from health workers, parents, and development partners.
• A new Child Nutrition Fund Programme, supported by UNICEF and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has received an initial investment of Sh10 million to strengthen community-based interventions.
