The Kenyan government plans to discuss increasing allowances for athletes with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) to improve their welfare and morale.

• The Ministry of Sports will engage the SRC on reviewing local and overseas allowances.
• Sports Principal Secretary Elijah Mwangi stated that the SRC currently determines all athlete allowances.
• The government is committed to resolving issues concerning the national football team, Harambee Stars, and acknowledged that payment delays can occur due to elaborate requisition processes.
