Kenya is looking to boost its exports to Germany by encouraging local businesses to move beyond raw produce and focus on value addition through processing, branding, and tailored packaging.

• This initiative aims to help Kenyan exporters capture more value from products like coffee and avocados, rather than primarily exporting unprocessed commodities.
• Principal Secretary for Industry Juma Mukhwana is leading efforts to connect 21 selected Kenyan exporters with German markets through a program in Mannheim, Germany, from September 28 to October 16.
• Germany has also committed funding to expand smallholder irrigation projects in western Kenya, which are projected to significantly increase farmer incomes.
