The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has issued a 30-day ultimatum for the removal of illegal structures along four major roads in several counties.

• The directive impacts roadside traders and occupants in Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale, Tana River, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, and Baringo counties.
• KeNHA Director General Luka Kimeli signed the notice, setting the deadline for Thursday, October 29, 2026.
• Affected roads include the Likoni-Ukunda-Lunga Lunga road, Kilifi-Malindi-Garsen-Witu road, Maili Tisa-Kitalo road, and the Eldoret-Nyaru road.
• KeNHA warns that structures remaining after the deadline will be removed at the owners' expense to facilitate planned road improvements and safety programs.
