Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has ordered a nationwide re-inspection of alcohol businesses, threatening immediate closure for those found non-compliant with regulations as part of a fresh crackdown on illicit brews.

• Businesses failing to meet standards or operating without licenses face closure.
• The directive was issued following a meeting with Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja on Tuesday, September 29.
• The government also plans to establish at least one public rehabilitation centre in every county within the next year, each estimated to cost Ksh60 million.
