Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma has sued Standard Media Group for alleged defamation over their reporting on the Linda Mwananchi rally in Homa Bay.

• Kaluma claims the publications conveyed false statements that harmed his reputation as a person, role model, lawyer, and elected leader.
• The lawsuit centres on a KTN News bulletin aired on September 6, 2026, which he alleges suggested violence was planned.
• He also cited previous Standard newspaper headlines from August 17, August 18, and August 21.
• Kaluma is seeking general, aggravated, and exemplary damages, along with a retraction and apology from The Standard Group.
