The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) has strongly criticized the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) for suspending revised pay and benefits for county government employees.
- KMPDU Secretary General Dr Davji Bhimji Atellah stated that county workers are public servants who deserve equitable remuneration and that fiscal responsibility should not be selectively applied to devolved workers.
- The union demands immediate reversal of the suspension and meaningful engagement with SRC, the Council of Governors, the National Treasury, and the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA).
- KMPDU insists that the wage bill is a national responsibility and that the dignity of workers is non-negotiable.
