The Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK) has approved the acquisition of a 60 per cent stake in De La Rue Kenya by Mauritius-based investment firm Monarch Capital Limited.
- Monarch Capital Limited will now own 60% of De La Rue Kenya.
- The Kenyan government, through the National Treasury, will retain the remaining 40%.
- This acquisition follows De La Rue Kenya's suspension of banknote printing operations in January 2023.
