Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned the Mt Kenya region against repeating their perceived "mistake" of the 2022 General Election, while dismissing accusations from President William Ruto and allies that he is a "sponsor" of the opposition.

• Uhuru Kenyatta urged the Mt Kenya community not to repeat the electoral choices he believes were based on "self-deception."
• The former president stated he is "content" and not seeking any political position, therefore unbothered by insults labeling him a "sponsor."
• The remarks were made on Saturday, October 3, during a funeral service in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County, for Mwalimu Jackson Karua, father of Martha Karua.
