The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced that taxpayers can now pay their principal tax debts in installments under the 2026 Tax Amnesty Programme. This initiative allows eligible taxpayers to have penalties and interest waived if their outstanding principal tax is cleared by December 31, 2026.
- Taxpayers unable to pay in full can apply for an Automatic Payment Plan (APP) via the iTax portal to clear their principal tax debts over time.
- The program offers a 100% waiver on penalties, interest, and fines for tax debts accrued up to December 31, 2025, provided all conditions are met.
- Eligible taxpayers can also benefit from the waiver if their only outstanding liability is a late filing penalty and all returns have been submitted.
