President Ruto's Allegations of Corruption in Parliament Stir Responses - August 2025

President William Ruto publicly stated that corruption is deeply entrenched within the Kenyan parliament, a declaration which has increased pressure on figures like Moses Wetangula. In response, Senator Boni Khalwale called upon the President to publicly name the Members of Parliament and Senators allegedly involved in corruption. Church leaders have also demanded that President Ruto take action based on his claims. Another group of parliamentarians has strongly refuted the corruption allegations made against them, while the Kenya Kwanza opposition group has urged the President not to blame the entire parliament.
