CS Murkomen Dismisses Reports of Jubaland Forces Invading Mandera - September 2025
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has dismissed reports of an invasion of Mandera by Jubaland forces, downplaying fears and assuring security in the region. Speaking in Busia, Murkomen stated the government will address criminal elements according to international law. However, Acting Inspector General of Police Gatiba Natembeya issued a warning regarding the presence of Jubaland forces inside Kenya. Reports indicated Jubaland soldiers had launched an invasion in Mandera, prompting Natembeya to call for the President's resignation. Concerns are growing in Mandera over the presence of the forces, with Kiambu MPs calling for calm.
