Education Ministry Disburses Funds to 3,000 Schools After Verification Process - September 2025
Only 3,000 out of 32,000 registered schools in Kenya have so far received government funding for education. The Ministry of Education has announced efforts to release funds for managing education activities in schools to ensure their smooth operation. In a related development, the Education Ministry has concluded its verification process, which has exposed "ghost schools" and aims to ensure accurate resource allocation. According to Education Principal Secretary Professor Julius Bitok, the ministry is currently reviewing documents for the remaining schools that are yet to receive funding.
