Gachagua expresses regret for working alongside President Ruto while in government
Rigathi Gachagua Accuses President Ruto of Manipulation, Tribalism, and Appointing Drug Cartels - October 2025
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused President William Ruto of tribalism, alleging that 90% of government parastatal CEOs are from Ruto's community. Gachagua also accused the President and the National Intelligence Service (NIS) of attempting to create a "third force" through manipulation. Furthermore, he alleged that President Ruto dispatches "goons" to his meetings with the intent to harm him and his allies. In a controversial statement, Gachagua alleged that the President has appointed "drug cartels" to his cabinet. He also accused the President of allegedly planning to bring in Ethiopian nationals through the North Eastern region to vote in the upcoming general election. Gachagua has also expressed regret over his working relationship with President Ruto and stated his intention to terminate the affordable housing program if he takes office.
