The government is implementing a significant change in how public sector jobs are filled, deploying technology to ensure merit-based hiring in public service. President William Ruto separately announced significant reforms in the Kenyan agricultural sector, highlighting improvements in sugar production and a crackdown on mismanagement. The National Treasury has also assumed control of financial and governance oversight for Kenya Seed Company and the Agricultural Finance Corporation.
