Wetang'ula and Joho condemn growing intolerance during coastal political events - June 2026

Wetang'ula and Joho have condemned the increasing intolerance observed at political events along the Kenyan coast. Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang'ula, has called upon Kenyans to shun tribalism and foster national unity. Martha Karua, leader of the People's Liberation Party, has pledged to scrap the Social Health Authority (SHA) and the housing levy if elected president. Members of the Wiper Democratic Movement are calling for fair and transparent nominations for the upcoming 2027 General Election.
