DP Kindiki: Infrastructure Fund will drive development without foreign loans - July 2026
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki announced that the newly established National Infrastructure Fund aims to accelerate development projects across Kenya without relying on foreign loans. The Kenyan government is planning to leverage the substantial assets held by SACCOs to finance major infrastructure developments, aiming to unlock trillions of shillings for the country's next generation of mega projects. Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has separately stated that the Kenya Kwanza administration is actively working to reduce the development disparities in the Nyanza region.
