Despite the brief availability of a QR scan option, manual onboarding methods proved successful for managing devices.

• Although the QR code feature failed, users successfully onboarded devices manually using the router’s alternate or HBB number.
• Once onboarded, users can manage subscriptions, buy bundles, view data balance, and access help, though some features like data balance may show 0.0kb.

Safaricom’s 5G routers, including the Huawei H155-382 and Nokia Gateway 2, are largely out of stock on Masoko, their e-commerce platform, with only the Baicells EG3065M remaining. This shortage is attributed to a significant price drop to KES 2,999 and expanding 5G coverage across Kenya, leading to increased demand.

PayPal is discontinuing its PayPal-MobileMoney.com portal for transfers to and from M-PESA in Kenya by August 16, 2025. Users will need to use the dedicated PayPal mini-app within the M-PESA Super App for all future transactions, aligning with Safaricom's strategy to integrate services within its ecosystem.
