Airtel Kenya recently activated and then quickly rolled back a "Home Wi-Fi" management feature within its My Airtel app, which aimed to allow users to add and manage their 5G Smart Connect routers. Despite the brief availability of a QR scan option, manual onboarding methods proved successful for managing devices.

• The My Airtel app briefly replaced its "Coming Soon" label with a "Scan QR to Activate Device" option for Home Wi-Fi, only to revert it.
• Although the QR code feature failed, users successfully onboarded devices manually using the router’s alternate or HBB number.
• Once onboarded, users can manage subscriptions, buy bundles, view data balance, and access help, though some features like data balance may show 0.0kb.
