East Africa School Games: Kenyan Netball and Volleyball Teams Aim for Success - August 2025
Oyugi Ogango Girls Secondary School, the national netball champions, are aiming for an improved performance at this year’s East Africa Games, seeking to break Uganda's decades-long dominance in the sport, despite no Kenyan team winning the East Africa netball trophy since 2002. Soweto Academy, a prominent Nairobi girls volleyball team, is also determined to perform well at the upcoming East Africa school games despite challenges and missing key players, having qualified after finishing fourth at the recent National Term Two games. In hockey, St Charles Lwanga will compete in the 2024 FEASSSA games, aiming for their maiden trophy after their strong performance in 2023, where they were instrumental in Kenya reclaiming the boys' hockey title from Uganda.
