Kenya Qualifies for CHAN 2024 Quarterfinals After DR Congo Beats Angola - August 2025
Kenya's Harambee Stars have qualified for the quarterfinals of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) after DR Congo defeated Angola 2-0 in a Group A match at MISC Kasarani. This result secured Kenya's progression with one group stage match remaining. The race in Group A, also called the “Group of Death,” has been intensely close with Kenya, Morocco, and DR Congo as top contenders. The Democratic Republic of Congo’s Leopards, who are vying for a historic third CHAN title, bounced back from an opening loss to Kenya. The match against Angola was pivotal for DR Congo's survival. Meanwhile, Zambia's Chipolopolo have been eliminated from Group A after three consecutive defeats and will play hosts Kenya on August 17 for pride.
