The High Court has temporarily halted the privatisation of the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) following a petition filed by the Consumers Federation of Kenya (COFEK). A Kenyan court issued a temporary injunction preventing the planned sale of the national oil infrastructure. In a separate ruling, the High Court in Kerugoya extended its order preventing the Kenyan government from importing 500,000 metric tonnes of duty-free rice. A ruling on the rice importation matter is expected next week.
