Families Collect Bodies of 22 Victims from Kisumu-Kakamega Road Crash - August 2025
A profound sense of sorrow was present at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) morgue as families gathered to collect the remains of 22 victims from a recent horrific road crash on the Kisumu–Kakamega road. These individuals were among 27 fatalities from the devastating accident. The 22 bodies were removed from the mortuary ahead of a mass funeral planned in Nyakach, Kisumu County, as the community comes together to mourn.
