Government Launches Anti-Corruption Measures Including New Law, Special Committee, and EACC Probes - August 2025

President Ruto has signed the Conflict of Interest Law 2025, which is now in effect. The President also announced the formation of a special government committee aimed at combating corruption within state departments across Kenya. Concurrently, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has announced it is investigating several Members of Parliament and Senators suspected of extorting bribes. EACC Chairman David Oginde confirmed that the investigation follows complaints submitted by high-ranking officials regarding these alleged corruption cases.
