• 33 MCAs voted for impeachment, an increase from 31 MCAs in the first attempt.
• Governor Mutai dismissed the impeachment as unfair and politically motivated, alleging the Speaker of the County Assembly compromised the electronic voting system for personal gain.
• 18 MCAs allied with Mutai submitted affidavits to the Senate, accusing the Speaker of bias and procedural irregularities, specifically regarding the introduction and use of electronic voting machines without proper notice or training.

Consolata Nabwire Wakwabubi was sworn in as a nominated senator, replacing Gloria Orwoba who was expelled from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) for alleged disloyalty. The oath of office was administered by Senate Speaker Amason Kingi during a special sitting on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

• Wakwabubi's nomination by UDA was gazetted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) after her predecessor's ouster challenge was dismissed.
