New Digital Platforms and Investments Target Kenya's Broadband and Music Sectors - August 2025
TikTok has launched TikTok for Artists in Kenya, providing a centralized platform for musicians to track song performance and optimize music release campaigns to bolster the country's music economy. In a separate development, the Africa Broadband Mapping Systems Project (BPMAPS) was launched in Nairobi, with Kenya selected as one of 11 African countries to benefit. Additionally, Finnfund, the Finnish development financier, announced a $4 million debt investment in Kenya’s Poa Internet. This funding is intended to expand the company's network capacity and provide affordable broadband to underserved areas.
