Officials Face Resignation Calls Over SHA Payout Scandal; President Ruto Vows Prosecution - August 2025

In response, Health CS Aden Duale has defended the SHA system, accusing some MPs of blackmail and attempting to sabotage anti-graft efforts because they own health facilities implicated in payment issues. President William Ruto has vowed that the government will apprehend and prosecute any individuals or hospitals involved in corruption within the Social Health Authority (SHA) insurance scheme. The President warned that the government would not remain silent while billions of shillings are lost to fraudulent activities.
