Raila Odinga Clarifies No 2027 Deal, Says ODM May Field a Presidential Candidate - September 2025

ODM leader Raila Odinga has clarified that there is no agreement for President William Ruto to back his 2027 presidential bid. Odinga also alluded to the possibility of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party fielding its own presidential candidate in the 2027 general election. He further revealed that he was compelled to negotiate with the Kenya Kwanza government. This action was taken to prevent national unrest during last year's anti-government protests.
