The National Police Service (NPS) has indefinitely postponed a mass police recruitment exercise, initially scheduled to begin on Friday, October 3, following interim conservatory orders issued by the Employment and Labour Relations Court.

• The recruitment aimed to enlist 10,000 police officers.
• Lady Justice Hellen Wasilwa issued the orders after a petition was filed challenging the process.
• The NPS is actively pursuing legal remedies to resume the exercise.

The Milimani High Court has issued temporary orders blocking the Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) from implementing new park entry fees, following a case filed by the Kenya Tourism Federation. The revised fees, which came into effect on October 1, sparked debate and were suspended on Thursday pending a hearing.

• The court allowed the prayers sought by the applicant against the State Law Office and KWS, with the case to be mentioned on November 25, 2025.
• New fees for Nairobi National Park for residents were raised from Ksh430 to Ksh1,000, while foreigners faced an increase from USD43 (Ksh5,570) to USD80 (Ksh10,360).
• The policy also introduced free entry for senior citizens aged 70 and above, as well as persons with disabilities.
