Government-Aligned Figures Criticize Opposition; UDA to Remove Senate Whip - October 2025
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has criticized opposition figures for politicizing the health of ODM leader Raila Odinga, making the remarks in Alego Usonga, Siaya County. Separately, Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku rebuked the opposition for what he described as "insult-laden, bitter and misleading rhetoric" during recent rallies in Embu and Kirinyaga counties. Ruku accused the opposition of undermining elected officials and government development records. Concurrently, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party plans to remove Senator Boni Khalwale from his position as Senate's Majority Chief Whip. This action is being taken due to Khalwale's support for an opposition candidate in the upcoming Malava parliamentary by-election.
