Following the passing of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga at the age of 80, President William Ruto declared seven days of national mourning. Speaking from State House Nairobi, President Ruto announced that Raila Odinga will be accorded a state funeral. In addition, President Ruto issued a directive for all high-ranking government officials to cease displaying the national flag on their official vehicles during the mourning period until the burial. Friday, November 17th has also been declared a public holiday.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has died at the age of 80. He passed away on Wednesday while receiving treatment in India.
