AXIAN Acquires Zuku Owner Wananchi Group as Airtel Launches 5G Router & Samsung Extends Repair Offer - November 2025
AXIAN Telecom has officially acquired 99.63% of Wananchi Group (Holdings) Ltd, the parent company of Zuku and Simbanet, through its subsidiary Yas, expanding its presence in East Africa's fixed broadband market. In other telecom news, Airtel Kenya has launched its 5G Smart Connect Outdoor Unit, a Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) solution designed to improve home internet connectivity by fixing poor indoor signal reception. On the device front, Samsung Kenya has extended its repair campaign until November 14, 2025. The promotion offers 50% off repair parts and free labour for 28 models of Galaxy phones and tablets, as well as select Crystal UHD TVs.
