Kenya Airways (KQ) has partnered with Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) to boost medical tourism in Africa, positioning Kenya as a leading healthcare destination.

• The collaboration, through KQ Health, aims to facilitate seamless travel and specialized treatment in areas like oncology and critical care.
• KQ Health will manage logistics, including medical clearances and ambulance transfers from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to AKUH.
• Rashid Khalani, CEO of AKUH, highlighted that the partnership will allow patients to access "world-class healthcare right here in Africa," eliminating the need to travel overseas.
• Kenya’s medical tourism sector currently sees fewer than 8,000 foreign patients annually, indicating significant untapped potential.

The Kenyan government and the Kenya Veterinary Association (KVA) have launched a digital e-voucher livestock vaccination and breeding program, aiming to increase the livestock sector's contribution to Kenya's GDP from 12 to 20 percent. The initiative leverages digital tools to enhance accessibility and affordability of animal health services.

• The program targets 22 million cattle and 50 million sheep and goats for vaccination against Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) and Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR), with farmers paying Sh50 per animal and the government subsidizing Sh110.
• Kelvin Osore, KVA Chair, highlighted the program as a "game-changer" for the industry due to its transparent, accessible, and affordable digital animal health services.
• Vaccinations have commenced in 11 counties and are expected to extend to all 47 counties by the end of November, employing over 11,000 vets and para-professionals and incorporating advanced breeding techniques like sexed semen and muzzle recognition.
