The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has officially appointed Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga as its party leader, elevating him from an interim capacity following the demise of his brother, Raila Odinga, on October 15.

• Oburu Odinga's appointment was confirmed by the National Governing Council (NGC) on Thursday, November 13, along with new Deputy Party Leaders: Abdulswamad Sheriff Nassir, Godfrey Osotsi, and Simba Arati.
• Other significant leadership changes include Kisumu Woman Rep Ruth Odinga as Deputy Organising Secretary, and Otiendo Amollo and Ariko Namoit as Vice Chairpersons.
• These appointments are subject to ratification by the National Delegates Convention (NDC) and coincide with the ODM's 20th anniversary celebrations in Mombasa from November 14-16, where President William Ruto is expected to attend.
