A Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) compliance officer, Evans Agumba Oriato, was charged in the Kisumu Anti-Corruption Court for allegedly soliciting and receiving a Kes500,000 bribe. He reportedly demanded the money to "assist" Jane Memorial Secondary School with tax filings.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested Josphat Kabeabea, Chair of the Anti-Counterfeit Authority's Board of Directors, on Friday, November 14, over allegations of demanding a Ksh15 million bribe. He was apprehended following a raid on his home.

• Kabeabea allegedly demanded Ksh5 million from a Chinese national on November 11, threatening detainment for selling counterfeit goods, eventually reducing the demand to Ksh150,000.
• He is also accused of demanding Ksh10 million in a separate incident in October from another company, receiving Ksh8 million.
• Kabeabea was appointed to his current role in February 2023 by President William Ruto and previously served as MP for Tigania East from 2017 to 2022.
