President Ruto Announces SGR Extension, New Admin Units, and Pledges Ksh100M Donation - November 2025
President William Ruto announced that construction of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) extension from Naivasha to Kisumu is set to commence in January. He also announced further government decentralization through the operationalization of new administrative units, with Marsabit County among the first to benefit. The move is intended to bring public services closer to people in marginalized regions. While in Marsabit County for a church service at AIC Loglogo, President Ruto pledged to donate Kshs.100 million to the Africa Inland Church (AIC) for "ongoing works" in Ileret.
