Chaos erupted at Kanyuambora shopping centre in Mbeere North on Thursday morning as campaigns for the upcoming by-election intensified. A group of residents, some wearing campaign reflectors, reportedly looted a shop in a scene captured on video.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has received the first consignment of ballot papers and statutory forms for the upcoming November 27, 2025 by-elections. This initial delivery is part of the preparations for the by-elections in 24 electoral areas across Kenya.
