A former employee of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has been charged with forgery and other offenses for allegedly using a falsified academic certificate to secure a promotion. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) arrested and arraigned the individual after investigations confirmed the document was fake.

• The suspect allegedly presented a forged Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies (Public Administration) certificate purportedly from Moi University.
• The IEBC official was arrested on November 19, 2025, and charged in court on November 20, 2025.
• He denied all charges before the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court and was released on a cash bail of Kes 200,000 or a bond of Kes 500,000.
