31 Victims of Chesongoch Landslide Laid to Rest in Elgeyo Marakwet - November 2025

A requiem mass was held at St. Mauras Chesongoch for the 31 victims of a devastating landslide in Chesongoch, Elgeyo Marakwet County before they were laid to rest. Hundreds of mourners attended the heartbreaking mass burial ceremony, where the victims were buried on a single plot of land. Following the burial, families have appealed for continued efforts to locate their missing relatives who perished in the disaster. The government has promised to provide assistance to the affected community. More than 31 people tragically lost their lives in the disaster.
