Senate Holds Impeachment Hearings for Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo - December 2025

The Senate has commenced impeachment hearings against Governor Amos Nyaribo of Nyamira County. The Deputy Clerk of the Senate, Mr. Mohamud Mohamed, formally read the impeachment charges brought against the Governor by the Nyamira County Assembly. During the proceedings, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot moved a motion regarding Governor Nyaribo's preliminary objection. Advocate Elias Mutuma argued on behalf of the governor that the impeachment motion is procedurally fraudulent. The Kenyan Senate is expected to determine the fate of Governor Nyaribo today.
