The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced the dispatch of 2024 KCPE and KCSE examination certificates to all schools nationwide via Sub-County Director of Education offices. Candidates are advised to collect their certificates from the schools where they sat their examinations.

• KNEC has warned schools against unlawfully withholding certificates, even for unpaid fees, instructing affected students to report such cases to the Sub-County Director of Education.
• The Minister of Education, Julius Ogamba, previously issued a 14-day ultimatum for schools to release all withheld certificates.
• Starting in 2025, candidates will collect their certificates specifically from the Sub-County Education Director's offices, rather than schools.

The Ministry of Education has released Grade 10 placements today for candidates who took the Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA), marking a significant step in the transition of Kenya’s first CBC cohort to senior secondary school.

• Candidates can check their school placement by sending their KNEC assessment number via SMS to 22263.
• The placement process is fully automated, considering learners’ choices, KJSEA performance, and equity, with students expected to report to their assigned schools on January 12, 2026.
• The KJSEA, conducted between October 27 and November 3, 2025, assessed over 1.1 million learners in 12 subjects, with admissions to be tracked online through KEMIS.
