Several deadly attacks have occurred in Turkana County, highlighting ongoing security challenges. In a bandit attack at Kakong center, four people were shot dead. In a separate cattle raid in Kakong’u village, Turkana South, six people were killed and two were injured. It is believed that livestock rustlers carried out the raid, stealing over 2,000 animals and causing heightened tension. Following these recent attacks, Murkomen visited the West Pokot–Turkana region to address the aftermath.
