The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has fined and closed several petrol stations nationwide for selling adulterated or illegally diverted fuel. This crackdown on fuel quality follows a warning by the Motorist Association of Kenya (MAK) to drivers, urging extreme caution on the Narok-Mai Mahiu road due to a rise in violent robberies. The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is also implementing significant reforms to boost road safety, particularly focusing on driver health and technological oversight through mandatory medical checks and digital monitoring of drivers.
